At Last; Port Harcourt Refinery Commences Operation

Federal Government has confirmed that operation have commenced at the Port Harcourt Refinery and Petrochemical Company in Rivers State.Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, (Oil), Senator Heineken Lokpobiri confirmed this when he led members of the Refinery Steering Committee to inspect the facility.Senator Lokpobiri explained that operation has now started at the Refinery while the first set of products will roll out after Christmas.He congratulated the Nigeria National Petroleum Company for the feat and Nigerians for their patience.Also, Group Chief Executive Officer of NNPC Limited, Mele Kyari said employees of the company put in lots of extra hours of hard work to ensure that the Refinery is back on its feet.The Federal Government had repeatedly declared since early 2023 that the Port Harcourt Refinery would commence operation before the end of the year.
