Nigeria’s First Lady, Oluremi Tinubu wants women societies and groups in the country to rise to the task of liberating Nigerian women from discrimination, violence, limited access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities.
Mrs Tinubu stated this at the State House Abuja, during her investiture as Grand Patron of National Council for Women Societies, NCWS.
The Nigerian number one woman noted that the NCWS has always been in the front in addressing issues that affect Women and in making sure that women contribute to the Nation’s progress and prosperity.
The First Lady also expressed joy that the NCWS has been working for many years without tiring, recalling she also worked with the body when she was First Lady of Lagos State many years back.
Mrs Tinubu pledged her resolve, as the Grand Patron of the society, to assist women in addressing issues that affect them and ensure that they too can thrive and fulfill their potential.
