A masquerader performing in a traditional festival has killed one of his spectators in Rivers State.
According to report, the incident happened at Abam Community in Okirika Local Government Area.
The masquerader allegedly hacked his victim to death with stick during the festival.
The development was said to have caused a communal disagreement between the people of Abam and the George Ama community where the victim hailed from.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer, Rivers State Command, Grace Iringe-Koko said the masquerader used a stick to hit his victim on the head.
Irin-koko said the victim was immediately taken to a hospital where he was confirmed dead.
“The matter has been reported to the police and we are investigating it. The suspect has run away but we are trailing him.
