Oyebanji’s Wife Takes Steps to Ameliorate Widows’ Sufferings

Screening has commenced for widows in Ekiti State as parts of exercise towards ameliorating their sufferings under a project known as “Widows and Orphans Hope Project” WAOH.

The initiator of the Project and wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji made this known while addressing the First batch of the beneficiaries in her office in Ado Ekiti.

The Governor’s wife who was represented by the Coordinator of Widows and Orphans Hope Project, WAOH, Mrs Kemi Dairo
said the screening became necessary to avoid confusion as well as ensure that the rightful beneficiaries were given relief materials.

The first Lady however Congratulated the set of beneficiaries who were about 30 urging them to be truthful in whatever details given to the officials of the Project.

She explained that the projects was also targeted at complimenting
government’s efforts towards reducing the plights of the less privileged and promote the wellbeing of the people in the state.

Dr Oyebanji noted that about twenty five thousand Widows’ names had so far being collated while those that have not registered could still come to include their own.

Two of the beneficiaries, Mrs Tawose Moyo and Mrs Mustapha Idowu appreciated the organizers of the project including the governor’s wife at bringing succor to them.

They also thanked the governor’s wife for not considering political and regious affiliation as part of chriteria for the beneficiaries.
