Police Arrest Two in Ekiti for Stealing Government Diesel

Ekiti state police command has arrested two suspects, Joseph Danjuma and Bankole Idowu who specialise in stealing diesel from government electricity generator plant.

Parading the suspects at the command’s headquarters in Ado Ekiti, the force spokesperson, Mr Sunday Abutu said Joseph Danjuma was apprehended with a 25litres jerican containing diesel by the Rapid Response Squad RRS while on patrol along NTA Road, in the state capital.

Mr Abutu explained that the suspect, upon interrogation, confessed to have stolen the diesel from the government generator plant powering the street light along NTA road in Ado metropolis.

The Ekiti state command PPRO said the suspect also confessed to have been stealing diesel from the generator plant along side Bankole Idowu who was subsequently arrested as his partner in the crime.

Mr Abutu who noted that the two suspects would be arraigned accordingly urged the people in the state to shun all forms of criminal tendencies.
