A commercial driver with registration number ADK 853 XB has been arrested for allegedly hitting okada rider and a passenger this morning at VIO Office, Adebayo, Ado-Ekiti.
Witnesses at the place of arrest in Ilokun, near Progress FM said the commercial driver hit the okada rider at VIO Office, Adebayo when trying to invade stop and search operations of vehicle inspection officers, VIO.
It was alleged that the commercial driver almost killed other road users when trying to invade the arrest, but eventually caught by officials of NSCDC, VIO and EKIRS at Ilokun, near Progress FM.
The witnesses while commending the officials for the arrest, said it would serve as deterrent to other hit and run drivers.
