Police arrest Two suspected armed robbers from Delta state in Ekiti, recovers stolen vehicle

The Ekiti State Police Command has arrested two suspected Armed robbers terrorising the people of Ado Ekiti, the state capital.

The command’s police public Relations officer, Mr Sunday Abutu who confirmed this in a statement in Ado Ekiti, said Anti -Vehicle Theft Section AVTS of the Command arrested the two suspects.

He explained the the command received a credible tip-off that two suspected armed robbers were sighted around Agric-Olope Area of Ado Ekiti, the state capital driving a Suzuki mini Bus popularly know as Akoto.

The PPRO pointed out that the AVTS operatives swung into action, mobilized to the area and arrested the two suspects, Asimiyu Temitope and one Oyewunmi Biodun.

Mr Abutu said during investigation, it was gathered that the suspected criminals came from Delta State, where they have been perpetrating their criminal activities and relocated to Ekiti State to continue their heinous crimes.

The Police Public Relations Officer noted that It was also discovered that the mini bus found with the suspects was reportedly stolen from Delta State by them.

Mr Abutu said further investigation revealed that one of the suspects, Asimiyu Temitope had in his possession some Police kits and accoutrements and he has been impersonating as a police officer in Delta State.

He announced said that the suspects would be handed over to Delta State Police Command for further investigation.

The PPRO who applauded members of the public for giving credible and timely information to the Police, implored everyone to be security conscious and report any suspicious person or group of persons found in their areas to the nearest Police Station for prompt actions.
