Oyebanji’s Wife Presents Gift Items to Nursing Mothers on International Women’s Day

Wife of Ekiti State Governor, Dr Olayemi Oyebanji has advocated the creation of more equitable and inclusive society where every woman can thrive and reach their full potential.

She stated this in Okeyinmin and Irona health Centres, all in Ado Ekiti while donating gift items which included towel, Pampers, mosquitoes nets among others to nursing mothers as part of effort to celebrate international women’s day.

The Governor’s wife who was represented by her special Assistant on political Mobilisation, Mrs Toyin Adepoju noted that it was very important to recognize the roles that mothers play in nurturing and raising future generations.

She also remarked that the gesture was part of her commitment to promote the wellbeing of mothers and babies in appreciation for their tireless efforts and dedication to their families and the society.

The first lady therefore enjoined relevant stakeholders to continue to support and uplift women in all areas of life, including healthcare, education, and economic empowerment.

“When women are empowered, they can positively impact their families and society as a whole. I urge all of us to join hands in promoting the welfare and empowerment of women. Dr Oyebanji added.

Appreciating the gesture, two of the beneficiaries, Mrs Bunmi Olagunju and Mrs Esther Joshua appealed to the Governor’s wife to continue to be committed to the wellbeing of women and children in the society.

The ceremony was attended by the state Director primary health care services, Dr Ayodele Seluwa, permanent Secretary, ministry of women affairs and social Development, Mrs Sola Akinluyi, Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health and Human Services, Mrs Olabisi Arogundade among others.
