A sergeant in the Kwara State Police Command, Olalere Micheal has allegedly shot a lady death before taking his own life immediately.
Confirming the unfortunate incident the Kwara State Police Public Relations Officer, Ajayi Okasanmi said that information reached the headquarters about 8:05am today that the police personnel went to Chapel of Redemption, Agba Dam Housing Estate Ilorin to commit the act.
Okasanmi said the late Micheal Olalere opened fire on the yet to be identified lady before shooting himself death and died on the spot.
The Police Spokesperson in Kwara State said that the Commissioner of Police, Mr Paul Odama has directed that the two corpses be deposited at University of Ilorin Teaching Hospital Morgue while investigation into the incidence commences.
Okasanmi however maintained that the issue has nothing to do with Police brutality but love gone sour adding that members of the public will be duly informed as soon as the report is ready.
