…caution against anti party activities
Past political office holders of the peoples Democratic party in Ekiti East local government have promised to work for those contesting on the platform of the party in the 2023 general elections.
The past political office holders include former political appointees, former National and state lawmakers, former Council Chairmen, councilors, supervisors and Advisers.
They stated this at a meeting presided over by Prince Taelolu Otitoju at Ayomoye Hall, Araromi Ugbesi Ekiti.
The PDP leaders in Ekiti East local government agreed to ensure that presidential and vice presidential candidates of the party, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar and Ifeanyi Okowa emerge the next elected president and vice president of the country.
They explained that all candidates of the party had what it takes to solve economy, political, security and other challenges facing the nation, hence the need for Nigerians to vote for them during the polls.
Speaking during the meeting, the Chairman of the meeting and former Commissioner for lands, Housing and urban development in Ekiti State, prince Taelolu Otitoju said members of the party in Ekiti East would not work against any candidate of the party including Senator Biodun Olujimi due to her contributions to the development of the state, saying she performed excellently as member of the Red Chamber.
Prince Otitoju noted that senator Olujimi had done well in the area of empowerment, constituency projects, contributions to national development and there is need to return her to represent Ekiti South Senatorial district at the National Assembly.
The former commissioner also said that candidate of the party contesting for House of representatives in Ekiti South Federal constituency II, Engineer Adenike Jeniffer including Akin Adeyemi for Ekiti east constituency one and Hon. Joseph Oguntade for constituency two at the state House of Assembly would enjoy support of the party members during the elections.
The group also reiterated that they would ensure that no member of PDP from Ekiti East local government would work against any candidate of the party and urged members to continue engaging in aggressive campaign for all the candidates to emerge victorious after the elections.
According to him, as beneficiaries of a system, we should do our best to make it easier for those coming behind to get to the top through the same platform.
He pointed out that PDP is the only party that has produced Deputy Governor, Senator, Members of House of Representative, Assembly members and highest number of elected council Chairmen and councilors in Ekiti East Local Government, saying there is need to increase the number.
